The Vision

In 2005, God gave me a vision of seeing an army of intercessors taking authority over the heavens above Iraq. What was needed was not an earthly occupation force but a heavenly army to dislodge the principalities and powers that bring violence to Iraq. If these forces were dealt with, then the earthly violence could be dealt with.

The strategy…

In late 2006 God challenged me to make this vision a reality. I presented the vision to a relational network of international prayer leaders in early 2007 and they said "go for it". A number of them have contributed to the background material on this site.

If the churches of the world pray for the cities of Iraq on a consistent basis, then the evil that Iraq is facing can be uprooted in a way that military force cannot do.

So whatever your political perspective on Iraq I hope we all agree that we want an end to the fighting. This is the aim of this prayer initiative.

Our call is to mobilise a heavenly army against the principalities and powers that are bringing evil and destruction to Iraq.

God's heart and glory

The situation is desperate for the people of Iraq and God is calling us to pray. God’s love overcame the power of the evil one at the Cross. If we know this love, then we can feel God’s heart – His heart for the people of Iraq. If we cry out to God in prayer with His heart of love, then we can seek to bring change to the nation of Iraq.

God is not getting the glory in Iraq; the devil is having a field day. For the sake of the glory of God and the people of Iraq, we cannot stand by.
